There are several ways to upgrade Iberia to Business Class or First Class. The three common ways are a) Bidding for an Upgrade, b) Upgrading via Campaign, and c) Upgrading with Avios. Other than that, you can upgrade from the airport at check-in time. More on these below.

You will be notified whether your bid was accepted or not four days before the journey date. Until five days before the journey date, you can change your bidding. There are two ways bidding can be done on your seats for Iberia.
Receive an email from the airline with the opportunity to bid. If you are interested, you can go ahead and do so here.
Next, you visit the official website and check whether you are eligible for an upgrade bid. Either there will be a pop-up offer or a tab to initiate the process of bidding.
This is rather straightforward. You don't have to do much from your side. The airline is going to offer you a set price as per the campaign offer depending upon your route & flight destination. So, if you agree to the campaign presented to you, you can accept.
This is akin to upgrading with miles; you can make the upgrade with "Avios", a currency that passengers collect through frequent flyer programs like Aer Lingus AerClub, Iberia Plus, British Airways Executive Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, & Vueling Club.
You can only upgrade cash tickets from flexible economy (Y, B, H) to Premium Economy or Business Class; Premium Economy to Business Class.
The number of Avios (miles) required to make the upgrade depends upon the Band (route), flight distance, when you are upgrading, and from/to which class you are upgrading.
The upgrade will be possible only if seats in the desired class are available.
This is the final option to upgrade at the check-in counter at the airport. You can easily purchase a higher-class ticket at the airline's set price, depending on the route. This can be done 24 hours before the departure when the check-in gate opens.
The last-minute upgrade at Iberia is the same as the upgrade available at the check-in point, which is obviously subject to availability. The benefit is you wouldn't have to pay the full price for the upgrade, which you might have had to pay otherwise. Also, you are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. So, it is recommended that you arrive early at the airport and make the inquiry about the upgrade.
